Hey, viewers! Thanks for all the comments on my previous blog; I will keep them at heart. On Saturday, Arthur and I were just hanging out when he suddenly said, "Hey, Andrew, why not post about teenagers in your blog? It'll be interesting." Sure enough, today's post will be based upon the current morals and views of the teenage generation.

As, I have stressed before, the media is increasingly becoming a major influence in everyone's lives through the television, internet, movies, radio, and books. People sheerly use these means of media as entertainment. However, thanks to the freedom of the press, a dark and immoral scenario entered the scene. The instruments that were only used for entertainment are now used for the spreading of violence, pornography, satanic messages, use of drugs, and other horrifying issues. The older generations are better at coping with this situation because they have actually seen the world and know of its secret horrors. However, the current teenagers are born into this fast-paced life where media determines even what people should wear. Therefore, most teenagers can not see the consequences of the many things that the media shows like pornography. Thus they will tend to argue over controversial issues like abortion and homosexuality according to where the popular majority of the media stands, being ignorant of the inner values of the truth.

I believe that one of the major reasons for many teenager's ignorance is their very own growth throughout the years. As they grow older, the adults that they once revered as smart and wise prove to be limited in some areas. Thus, the teenagers feel that they are smarter and can do better than the adults. Furthermore, these teenagers became rash in their thoughts and lose sight of the greater picture. As a teenager, I am still going through this too. Sometimes, I was extremely annoyed when my parents or my close adult friends, even Arthur, lecture me about what is right and wrong in this world. I naturally assumed that being myself, I know what is best for me.

In addition, I think that some adults are to be blamed also for the ignorance of the new generation. The media problem did not happen overnight. It took years and years for it to reach such a state. The older generations should have been clearly aware of the change since they were clearly present during that time. However, instead of setting an example for the younger ones, they decided to actually follow the media along and continue their bad and immoral habits.

Even in my school, Stuyvesant High School, there are simplified versions of how ignorant teenagers are. There are students gambling in the corners, most of which are cutting classes. When asked why, they simply said that they didn't feel like it. In addition, some use cigarettes and drugs to ease their stress in school. It also saddens me greatly that because many of the students there are skilled in science, they deny the divine existence of God merely because they say that He is just an illusion of the human mind.

I am sure that this topic is far from over. I will continue to voice my opinion about this generation's corruption in this blog.
